Good story. I first saw flamenco dancing then tuned in for Fado (I think I’m spelling this correctly) when visiting Spain 1983 - loved them! You are living in a great place!

It's great she's remained so committed for decades. And it brings her to Spain.

A friend from San Miguel wanted me to bring tango shoes back to her from Buenos Aires (they look similar, but not quite the same as flamenco shoes). Sadly, not enough room in our backpacks. But it did make me think a lot about the shoes we use for specific activities. And wished I had a bit more room in my luggage!

It's a tricky thing getting shoes for someone, especially those that are so specialized. They have to be perfect.

I was charged with bringing the pair of flamenco shoes that my sister had custom made when I next went to the states. I was so afraid I'd forget them that I put them in my suitcase two months before my trip.

Yes, shoes are so important for our quirky feet and activities.

Great! I was surprised to learn of the Roma origins of the dance style, and the history behind its themes.
